Haha! This is great! Very good character development here. Kids and cursing - what's not to like here?

lol, love the last line. And the voice is GREAT. Love Dari and the fact she's encouraging little Molly to say all those delightful naughty words ;)

As for hair-cuts... my son has a hair cut that makes him look like Luke Skywalker or Anakin in Phantom Menace. And, scary enough, he could be Luke's evil twin. Except his hair is a gorgeous golden shade with the most amazing copper highlights.

Ah, it's one of the purest pleasures, teaching kids how to swear. My fave part, though, is the second family aspect of finding out that her father is a somewhat changed man. Just how weird the multi-family dynamics can be.

Thank you! :) This is the same one, yes. I'm glad to hear it's working this far in: I haven't written in 1st in a very long time, and it feels a little like trying to tie knots while wearing mittens.

Amy I LOVE your voice. It's so fun and relatable without being completely over the top. I can't wait to read more of this! I'm so curious about where it's going. Is this the same WIP the Hopefuls have seen snippets of?

Ha! Loved the voice in this, especially calling her Bowl Cut. And why is it always so funny when young kids swear?

I did too! And more than once: as in, in third grade and then again in 10th grade.

Actually, now that I think about it, my hair is kind of like that now. Eek.

Very nice!

I love this line, great description: "She shook her head, the snarled bowl cut moving like it was shellacked in place. I had this compulsion to brush her hair: it was practically all I could think of when I saw her." I used to have a haircut like that. :(

Teaching little girls naughty words, I like Dari a lot!
